our charming and humble RETREAT is made from earth brick and RECYCLED timbers. A truly bespoke home that

Our stay at Terra Rosa was beyond relaxing. Just a short drive brought us to the Elephant rocks for a refreshing dip and a wander. After a day exploring it was so relaxing to sit and watch the birds in the bush, or watch the light against the trees as the sun set or rose in the morning. It truly feels like a home away from home, and no matter if your enjoying a meal around the table together or a cup of tea in the garden, you can’t shake the feeling you’re in paradise! –

Set amongst massive native trees, is a combination of a Spanish villa, a medieval castle, and a French provincial country house!
The eclectic home and its furnishings are perhaps not everyone’s cup of tea. It’s something different. There is a huge “WOW” as soon as we walked through the door, the distinctive architecture and in the beautiful furnishings.
We enjoyed our stay amongst the gumtrees immensely.
A massive lounge room includes a long table, high ceilings, and a big wood fire alongside a comfy club lounge area. At first the kitchen seems to be missing rather vital components until you wander round the corner and find a fully kitted out scullery. Relax on the front porch beside the shady green front garden, take a stroll through the trees, or have a BBQ on the back porch, this place provides a lovely setting on the doorstep of Denmark.

For us, Tera Rosa Haven was not just “an accommodation”, but rather one of the most memorable highlights of our stay in Denmark. Snuggled under majestic eucalyptus trees, this absolutely unique, spacious, yet cosy and warm house has such a powerful genius loci. It is built and decorated in a stylish and original way, but is also very practical and includes all the amenities one needs for a comfortable stay. It has a very spacious and well-equipped kitchen, a beautiful garden with a veggie patch and fruit trees as well as an outside barbecue area. Its location is great too. The center of the town is within few minutes by car, but there is also a beautiful cycling / walking path through the forest along the Denmark river. We stayed there with our baby daughter who loved to explore the house and enjoyed the garden. It is an ideal and idyllic place to stay, an enchanting house, relaxing and inspiring. We absolutely loved it.

The haven… autumn days following the sun around the garden, watching the fairy wrens flirting. Ping pong battles, board games, cups of tea on the day bed and a glass of wine under the gum trees watching the sun turn the clouds gold. Evenings soaking in the claw foot bath, looking out at the stars, sitting by the fire. A place to unwind; to come together; to be alone; to simply be.

I stayed here in late March for a gorgeous girls getaway. The house was the perfect setting for our little trip. It had everything we needed to cook up a storm in the kitchen, settle down and watch a movie in the arvo and so many spots to sit and eat or share a glass of wine both inside and outside under the trees. There were some great board games there that we all had fun playing. The bedrooms are well kept with lovely window views and the beds are heavenly comfy!! Especially after big days exploring Denmark and with full bellies, snuggling down in the cozy beds and listening to the trees outside and the house talking itself to sleep was so peaceful. We explored the beautiful front garden full of roses and fruit trees and walked along the perimeter of the property along the small pathways in the bush. I will definitely be back here for another girls trip!

Discover Denmark Western Australia

There is a feeling of being miles away from anywhere, however with the town of Denmark only 4km’s away, Terra Rosa Haven is superbly located and conveniently placed to explore many stunning local attractions. Beaches, forest, rivers, National Parks, wineries, the Bibbulmun walking track, the Munda Biddi Mountain bike trail and many other attractions which make Denmark and the Great Southern so worth visiting. The closely located Kwoorabup Bush Trail is a lovely walk to town beside the Denmark river. The nearest beach, Ocean Beach, is less than 15 minutes drive away and a great place to enjoy with kids swimming, walking, rock climbing, surfing and fishing. Mount Lindesay National Park with more amazing walk trails is just a 15 minute drive to the north.

Adventure, relaxation or both, this is a perfect place to settle into and enjoy the many gifts that abound in this beautiful part of the planet.
